F.G. assures Nigerians that high cost of living will soon be a thing of the past

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government has reassured Nigerians that the high cost of living is just temporary.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris in Sokoto State on Monday.

He said that things will improve shortly.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony for food distribution at the Government House in Sokoto, Idris emphasised that the Federal Government’s comprehensive intervention programme includes grain distribution as a key component.

He stated that the goal of this initiative is to ease people’s difficulties while also stimulating long-term growth and prosperity for all residents.

He also announced that 42,000 MT of various food items from the National Strategic Food Reserve would be released to vulnerable Nigerians throughout the country.

Idris, who underscored Tinubu’s worry over rising food costs, demonstrated his commitment by approving the release of 42,000 metric tonnes of diverse grains, including sorghum, millet, and maize, as well as 60,000 metric tonnes of rice via millers.

According to Idris, it was clear that the president’s policy overhaul would be fraught with difficulties.

“The government urges Nigerians to be patient and understanding as we transition from these tough times to a season of abundant benefits and truly renewed optimism.

” As the President often emphasises, these headwinds are just transitory, and we will undoubtedly overcome them,” the Minister stated.
