“With the changing demographics of our great nation, the government has recognised the importance of allowing NOUN graduates to participate in the NYSC scheme.”

Being a graduate of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has its perks. If you obtained a degree in law, you have no future in the Nigerian Law School (NLS); also, going through the school gives you no future in one of Gowon’s 3R programmes, the National Youth Service Corps.

The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has opened the doors of both programmes for NOUN graduates. This was announced by the Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Biodun Saliu, at the 13th Convocation of the National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja, on April 13.

He further stated that the issue stumbling the law graduates of the institution into getting admitted into the law school programme has been cleared off. He urged the Federal Ministry of Education to act accordingly.
