President Tinubu to visit Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, on an official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and then to Saudi Arabia to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The President’s special adviser on media and publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, stated on Monday evening that the formal visit was extended to the President by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte.

“President Tinubu will engage in high-level discussions with the Prime Minister as well as hold separate meetings with His Royal Majesty, King Willem-Alexander, and Queen Maxima of the Kingdom. The Queen is the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA).

“While in the Netherlands, the President will participate in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum that will bring together heads of conglomerates and organisations in both countries to explore opportunities for collaboration and partnerships, especially in agriculture and water management, towards innovative solutions for sustainable farming practices.

“There will also be extensive discussions with the Dutch officials on port management operations for which they have world-renowned expertise,” he stated.

Following his commitments in the Netherlands, President Tinubu will travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in a designated World Economic Forum (WEF) gathering set to take place on April 28–29.

Ngelale observed that President Tinubu and his delegation will utilise the World Economic Forum meeting, which centres around global collaboration, growth, and energy for development, as a platform to engage in discussions with over 1,000 leaders from business, government, and academia.

This is in line with President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda for the country.

He added, “Several ministers and other high-ranking government officials will accompany the President.”
