Nigeria will lead Africa’s AI revolution – F.G

Nigeria’s Federal Government aims to take the lead in developing and regulating artificial intelligence (AI) globally.

Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovations, and Digital Economy, highlighted this at a workshop on the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy in Abuja.

Given the impending global convergence on AI creation and implementation by global powers, the minister stated that Nigeria must actively participate.

A team of AI experts and startups will develop the framework during the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Workshop in Abuja, which will take place from April 15th to 18th, 2024, the minister revealed.

The event has the support of Luminate, a global corporation committed to fostering transregional transformation.

With their assistance, the participants will collaborate to develop a comprehensive framework that corresponds to Nigeria’s goals and implementation strategy for harnessing AI to improve lives and promote economic growth.

Tijani added that the resultant plan will assist in achieving the goals and implementation methods for improving lives and boosting Nigeria’s economy through the use of AI.
