Kogi police strengthen security ahead of Eid-el-Fitr celebrations
The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has restated its dedication to safeguarding people’s lives and possessions, particularly during Muslims’ celebration of 2024 Eid-el-Fitr.
The Commissioner of Police for Kogi State, Bethrand Onuoha, released a statement on Tuesday instructing all Divisional Police Officers, their Supervisory Area Commanders, and tactical and operational commanders to strengthen security measures in their respective areas of responsibility prior to, during, and after the Eid-el-Fitr festivities.
In Lokoja, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP William Over Aya, informed the media about the implementation of strict security measures.
This entails the deployment of patrol teams along the main thoroughfares, as well as the execution of covert operations in high-crime areas, hotspots, and other susceptible regions.The main objective of these steps, as stated, is to guarantee a seamless and uninterrupted celebration.
The diligent police and professionals on duty will expeditiously attend to any reported instances of law infringements.
He emphasized the command’s unwavering commitment to collaborating with other security agencies and important stakeholders to ensure the protection of lives and property by gathering and exchanging reliable public information.
He sent his well wishes to Muslims at this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations and praised them for their successful adherence to fasting during the sacred month of Ramadan.
