Federal government declares Friday and Monday public holidays
To commemorate Easter, the Federal Government has designated Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, as public holidays.
This is stated in a statement made on Wednesday in Abuja and signed by Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, on behalf of Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Interior Minister. She stated that the Federal Government was represented by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of the Interior. Tunji-Ojo exhorted Nigerians in general and Christians in particular to imitate Jesus Christ’s selflessness and love in giving his life in order to save mankind.
In order to improve the material circumstances of those who are less fortunate than themselves, the minister further advised Nigerians to engage in acts of kindness and generosity. He claimed that this aligns with the president’s renewed hope agenda.
While wishing Christians both domestically and abroad a joyous and peaceful Easter celebration, Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to support the President Tinubu-led administration’s efforts to bring about sustainable development and bring prosperity to all.
