Two weeks ago, two students of the Federal University of Wukari were kidnapped. They were Joshua Sardauna from the Department of Economics and Obianu Elizabeth from the Department of Microbiology. On Monday, April 3, the day of their kidnapping, herdsmen invaded the school while they were eating at a food vendor shop on campus around ten at night.
According to Mrs. Ashu Agbu, the Head of the Information and Protocol Unit of the university, the two students were released last night after the abductors demanded a N50 million ransom.
Joshua and Elizabeth missed their exams because they were in their abductor’s den at the time. They returned to the school to retake their examinations because they had carry-over courses from when they were at large.
