While Nigerians clamour for lack of employment and the incessant strike of the Academic Staff Union of the University, students troop in thousands to sit for the one exam that is a leeway to being a victim of unemployment and an overdue undergraduate. JAMB (Joint Administration Matriculation Board) is one of the requirements for going into Nigerian higher institutions.

JAMB has designated April 19–29, 2024, as the date for the main UTME. Earlier, a mammoth number of students were trapped at Al-Mizyan Schools Computer-Based Centre in Ikotun, Lagos State. This was said to be a result of a technical glitch. In layman’s language, there were problems with the cable connection, as they shared.

Some parents, however, refused to buy the lame excuse, as they made a flimsy point out of the mere disconnection of cables. On the other hand, there were complaints that it was not an approved centre for such exams. According to JAMB’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, all hands will be on the deck to ensure that all candidates who have registered sit the examination.
