Ondo APC mourns Akintelure

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has expressed regret over the death of Dr. Paul Akintelure, one of its gubernatorial hopefuls.

Akintelure, a medical doctor from Igbotako in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state, died on Tuesday morning in Lagos after a brief illness.

In a statement in Akure, APC state chairman Ade Adetimehin expressed his condolences and characterised the deceased as a personal friend with whom he had a strong connection over the years. He termed the news as startling.

The state branch of the APC issued a statement stating that it was devastated by the loss of one of its gladiators, Dr. Paul Akintelure.

He was a governorship candidate preparing for the upcoming party primary next month. Akintelure was a sophisticated and consistent political personality who believed that the purpose of politics was to build both people and land.

The departing political leader’s services to the growth and stability of the APC’s Ondo State chapter will not be forgotten. Like other governorship candidates, he was certain of victory in April.

He had several other intentions, but death was never one of them.
