            Facebook and Instagram experience temporary outage
Facebook and Instagram, both social media networks owned by Meta, are temporarily inaccessible to users in Nigeria. It is uncertain whether the outage is limited to Nigeria or whether it is a worldwide issue. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the situation.
In October 2021, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp had a 5-hour outage, disrupting operations on the platforms and resulting in a $65 million loss for its parent corporation, Meta.
