Ex-Abia Governor Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu is dead
Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate for the 2023 election, has died.
Onu, Abia State’s first civilian governor, died in Abuja on Thursday.
The circumstances surrounding his death were unknown at the time of filing this report, but reports indicate that the APC chairman has been dealing with an undisclosed ailment.
Onu’s most recent major public appearance occurred during the APC primary election in 2022, when he claimed unfairness against The Southeast region
In November 2015, former President Muhammadu Buhari named Onu Minister of Science and Technology.
The former governor, however, quit his office on May 6, 2022, to run for the APC presidential nomination, which he lost to President Bola Tinubu.
